The fourth David Gemmell Legend Awards will be held on Friday 15th June at the Magic Circle headquarters in London, the awards which were established to both promote good SF&F talent and remember the great David Gemmell, who was taken from us far, far too early (it was always such a pleasure to have David for an author event, rather than do a reading to the audience he simply sat there and chatted away with the fans; always a packed out event, always a whole bunch of very happy readers at the end of the night). In order to help raise funds and keep these awards running there is also an annual auction, which this year includes items such as a Star Wars Moleskine notebook filled with some 40-plus signatures of science fiction and fantasy writers including China Mieville, Joe Abercrombie, Robin Hobb, Peter F Hamilton and more, an original sketch by artist Didier Graffet for the cover of Joe Abercrombie’s The Heroes, a cameo in an upcoming Terry Brooks novel and more.
