Darren at the Genre Files points us to this fabulous short animation in French (with English subtitles) from the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques‘ Hugo Jackson, Pascal Chandelier, Valentin Michel, Bastien Morteleque and Elliot Maren. In time honoured tradition a hapless dweeb has a serious accident that gifts him with superpowers – he determines to impress his small town beauty by becoming a hero, but as anyone who’s read Spidey knows it isn’t that easy becoming a superhero… There are some lovely wee touches in here too, the generic superhero pose against the city skyline, pulling back to reveal something rather different… I won’t spoil it, just have a look!

Loved that, but the ending was a little… bonkers, some unreconstructed 1970s comedy misogyny apparently airdropped from an old episode of THE LES DAWSON SHOW.
