From our continental correspondent – The Daltons animated, for real!

When magazines still really mattered in Bandes Dessinées, and print runs regularly counted in hundreds of thousands, Spirou magazine always had the coolest comics – their titles always were a little more subversive, just a tad more daring and adventurous. But the best aspect of the magazine was the extras – there was always something really good added as a bonus to each issue. Whether it’s a poster, or a special about a character, custom made stamps or the famed mini-comics (that you had to fold yourself), the magazine had always something extra.

Il Favoloso Mondo di Carta di Toto, one of the best blogs about paper model building, has started to collect the animated models that the magazine sometimes contained, that you had to cut out and fold and glue yourself. First in line is a rather funny one featuring the Daltons, Lucky Luke’s forever enemies, in one of their least favorite moments : back in prison, smashing rocks.

Have fun building this vintage paper toy yourself!
