The Internet … Oh my God, it’s full of comics…
Chris Weston commission – “Just completed today: a private commission featuring Flash Gordon. The customer also asked me to include Dale Arden and Ming the Merciless in the design. The three characters were based closely on the original sunday papers version of the characters as drawn by Alex Raymond. I also wanted to paint in one of those classic retro-futuristic rocket-ships that featured in the strip, and this proved to be the starting point of my composition. It gave me the opportunity I wanted to spend a day or two designing one of these aircraft in Cinema 4d, an activity I also describe as “farting around”.”
Definitely click on the link – there’s a great process post about this there as well.

And whilst googling around for Amy Reeder hadley, came across this, her cover for her new creator owned comic Halloween Eve with writer/editor Brandon Montclare. It’s been successfully Kickstarted (details here) and the 40-page issue should be out late in 2013.

That’s a very effete John Constantine on this Jae Lee cover (via DC Dark)

Paul Pope – The White Stripes (Via Bristolboard)

Chris Weston – Judge Anderson:

Terry Moore Death (Via Bendis)

Bat out of Hell by ~JakobWestman (Via Lulu)

The Ultimates #21 by Dave Bullock - hold on, old non-Sam Jackson Nick Fury in the Ultimates universe? All will no doubt be explained in the issue. Great image though.

We’ll end with a great Colleen Coover Batman strip from 2010….

Nice collection of work as usual.
I do own a copy of that Madame Xanadu comic, but I bought it solely for the Bolland story in the back which to the best of my knowledge hasn’t ever been reprinted, which is a shame as it would be nice to see his art more clearly rather than obsured by the colour and printed on news print.
