Best Cover Ever? – Steve Tillotson

Time to pick yet another best cover, where a number of comikers engage in the fruitless task of choosing something beautiful that they believe is the Best Cover EVER…. at least until the next Best Cover EVER comes along anyway.

This week it’s the turn of Mr Banal Pig himself; Steve Tillotson, maker of Banal Pig Funnies, Banal Pig Comics, Jolly Bear, Onion Peter, Mr Wobbles, Banal Pig’s Royal Assortment, and many many more great comics. Steve was the runner-up in the 2012 Graphic Short Story prize with his tale of hair and ice…“I, Yeti“.

We’re rather fresh here, as this is from 2009; the work of the quite brilliant Jordan Crane:

Uptight Issue 3, 2009, Cover by Jordan Crane.

My vote would be for Jordan Crane’s Uptight #3. Everything about it is spot on, the title font, the colour scheme against the black background and the double image. Also it’s pretty creepy.

The comic is great too, there should be a lot more of these pamphlet style indie comics on nice paper.
