(Updated – 19th Jan – Sean Phillips initially reported as a guest. Apologies to Sean and the Lakes Festival – he’s actually the third patron.)
Fancy a little comic festival experience in some of the nicest holiday destinations in the country? Then a weekend at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October is just the job. It takes place from 18-20th October 2013 in Kendal in Cumbria.
The festival has already announced its founder patrons; Bryan and Mary Talbot (winners of the recent Costa Biography prize for Dotter Of Her Father’s Eyes), and the Cumbrian local Sean Phillips. The Talbots are no strangers to the world of the Lakes either, as they featured, quite beautifully in Bryan Talbot’s The Tale Of One Bad Rat.

The festival is organised by Julie Tait (and her 14 year old comic fan son Finn). Further details will be announced in time – www.comicartfestival.com, @comicartfest, Facebook page.
Meanwhile…. a little Lake District artwork from Brayn Talbot’s excellent Tale Of One Bad Rat to give you some idea of the beautiful setting for this latest comic festival (giant rat probably wont be in the area when you visit):

Sorry Sean – read it wrongly on the website – changed now.
