The Phoenix Weekender…

Every week the new Phoenix Comic pops through the letterbox. Every week I put it on the shelf with the rest of the unread Phoenixes and promise I will read them soon….

Soon, soon, soon, soon…..

The reviewer’s curse…. we like to imagine we’re doing a fairly good job on the FPI Blog, but one side effect of being known for seeking out and reporting on the very best of the UK comic scene right now means time disappears. So every week I get a Phoenix, and every week I regret not reading it and telling you all about it. This changes now….

Here we go – The Phoenix Weekender…. not a review, just picking one or two great things in The Phoenix this week. And you may well note that I’m even late doing this!

Phoenix 60

Issue 60, and loads of lovely stuff, but nothing funnier than the sight of Larry Ladybird astride a rat, courtesy of Gary Northfield.

And little more epic in scale than this from Pirates Of Pangaea, as written by Dan Hartwell and drawn by Neill Cameron:

You can pick up copies of The Phoenix comic each week from a host of great comic shops, including our own, from Waitrose, from a number of other outlets (see here on the Phoenix site) and through subscription. Full details at the Phoenix website.
