Announced earlier today, Thought Bubble 2013 will take place this year from 17th to 24th November, including the non-traditional, big, big, but just as friendly and happy as it ever was, 2-day comic convention on the 23rd and 24th November.
Initial news is small obviously, and there will be many, many more guests announced over the coming weeks and months, but right now, here’s just a few to be getting on with…
Rafael Alburquerque (American Vampire); Gabriel Bá (Daytripper, Casanova); Andy Belanger (Swamp Thing, Black Church); Becky Cloonan (Batman, Wolves, The Mire); Ming Doyle (Mara, Jennifer’s Body); Fábio Moon (Casanova, Daytripper); Sean Gordon Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus); Ramón Pérez (Wolverine & The X-Men); Emma Rios (Captain Marvel, Pretty Deadly); Annie Wu (Hawkeye, The Venture Bros)
They also unveiled that spangly new sci-fi style festival image, as made by Alice Duke. It’s a great image, and sets the tone so wonderfully well for what has become something of a highlight of the festival season. Sci-fi, but still welcoming to everyone.
I’ve been to a few Thought Bubbles now, and can only encourage everyone to head up to Leeds for the event, to share in something really engaging, wonderfully welcoming, full of great events and great guests. (Other comic events are available!)
More TB details on website, blog, Twitter and Facebook.
And finally… TB do make it lovely and easy to deliver news of their guests and special events…. love these little banner logos…

Oh, yes, just realised I actually forgot to do this when it was announced…. nominations for the 2nd annual British Comic Awards are now open at the BCA website. Although please, no ballot stuffing, no email campaigns… the BCAs aren’t a most votes wins awards, the nominations are passed to the BCA committee who select the shortlist. And that shortlist gets passed to the judging panel. So every nomination goes before committee.
