The new Bond Girl for Casino Royale has been announced, with French actress Eva Green taking the role, playing alongside Daniel Craig’s new James Bond. Green, who will play the character Vesper Lynd, was last seen in Ridley Scott’s Crusades ‘epic’ Kingdom of Heaven, although we’ll try not to hold that against her. Jeffrey Wright [...]

Sad news on SciFi Wire today, as it reports that the actor Andreas Katsulas passed away at the far-too-young age of 59 from lung cancer. Andreas had appeared in numerous stage, TV and film roles, with many genre entries including Alien Nation, Max Headroom and various Star Trek episodes. However, to most of we SF [...]

The latest pre-orders for DC and Image Comics have gone onto the graphic novels site and the main FPI site. There are some very interesting titles to look forward to: DC are continuing their Showcase range (very similar to Marvel’s Essentials, reprinting classic material in an affordable black and white anthology) with some Silver Age [...]

Lou Ferringo, the extremely muscular actor who played the Incredible Hulk whenever Bill Bixby got angry in the old TV show beloved by many of us has joined the ranks of law and order, becoming a reserve deputy sheriff in California! No, its not some new plot from Marvel, it was on CNN so it [...]

SPLINK!

SPLINK, you say? Why, yes – SPLINK. Apparently a way of remembering the stages of the Green Cross Code for getting children safely across busy roads – and presented by none other than the third Doctor Who, Jon Pertwee in this 1970s public information film. Sadly there is no sign of Daleks attempting to negotiate [...]

The comic news sites are full of reports from the various publishers’ panels at the weekend’s Wondercon. With so many publishers showcasing their wares and coming attractions there isn’t room to cover them all, but here are a few tidbits which caught my eye. Bill Willingham is bringing us an original graphic novel from DC’s [...]

The trailer for the forthcoming Terry Zwigoff/ Dan Clowes collaboration, Art School Confidential is now available on the official site, along with various other goodies… At least, according to Boing Boing, who are normally bang-on; all I could see was short animated intro and ‘coming soon’ when I tried to access the trailer… Perhaps, like [...]
