You might remember recently I mentioned that Amanda Palmer would be performing a gig in Edinburgh (in the HMV Picture House on Lothian Road, August 22nd) and is threatening all sorts of other sneaky performances during the annual madness of the Edinburgh Festival this month (will no-one think of the children???). I’m also delighted to announce that the corpse of the late Amanda Palmer will be joining us in our Edinburgh branch on Southbridge (a moment’s walk from the historic Royal Mile) to sign copies of her collaboration with Neil Gaiman, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, on Sunday August the 16th from 3 to 4pm (please note the time may be subject to change due to performance obligations, so check the site for any updates).

I am informed that Ms Palmer’s body is likely to be revived from its current post-mortem state in time for the signing and the gig, although if she should prove to still be in a post-homicide state we do plan to prop her up with a broomstick especially for the event. Do come down and join us. Meanwhile Amanda’s multiple murders don’t seem to be stopping her getting out and about; keep up with her via her site and her Twitter.

Actor Peter Facinelli will be familiar to many of our readers, I suspect, not least for his recent role in the first Twilight film and the upcoming New Moon second Twilight movie where he plays Doctor Carlisle Cullen, head of the good vampire family in the world of Twilight, adoptive father to Edward. Well we’ve got great news for fans in Ireland – Peter is going to be in Dublin and he’s kindly agreed to appear in our store there (5-6 Crampton Quay, Dublin 2, phone 0035 3167 10688)  on Monday 20th July from 7 to 9pm.
