That fine gentleman of letters, Todd Klein, has a lovely new treat in his series of very attractive prints that he has been making in collaboration with some of the top creators he has worked with over the years. This time Todd is working with Shawn McManus, but this time it isn’t just a limited edition print, Go Freelance! is also something of a board game too, which outlines “the lives of two budding comics artists. It’s written, designed and lettered by Todd with over fifty wonderful spot illustrations by Shawn in a 1950s-advertising art style that’s sure to bring a smile.” The illustrations look great and the subject will raise a wry smile from a lot of comics folk, no doubt! And there may just be the oddly familiar face to be spotted in there too… I’ve treated myself to a couple of Todd’s previous prints and would recommend indulging yourselves (a fairly affordable treat at that), but be quick to grab one of the first run. Steve Rude and Todd Klein’s Hope

That fine gentleman of letters and lettering, Todd Klein, has unveiled a new collaboration with one of the medium’s finest, this time working with Steve Rude, with Steve’s art in the print, entitled Hope, depicting the mythological Pandora. As with previous collaborations each print will be signed and Todd will be selling them via his site (from June 1st onwards) and, as with the previous works, at a pretty damned decent price in my book. And I notice Todd is planning to donate $2 for each print sold to the American Red Cross so they can actually offer some Hope of their own – a nice touch. Well worth treating yourself to or buying as a nice present – I have a couple of Todd’s earlier print collaborations in my own collection and find myself thinking, can I make more wall space available for another…? Buy Darryl Cunningham’s cityscape

You remember the other week we mentioned that one of our very faves, Darryl Cunningham, was asking if anyone would be interested if he made prints to sell of some of his wonderful cityscape scenes? And we said oh yes, we thought a lot of folks would like that. Well I’m delighted to see that Darryl has decided to do just that and his fab looking Big Town Poster is up for sale right now, for a mere £8. Make a cracking, colourful, imaginative present for someone you know (or a great treat for yourself!).

And while we’re on the subject of Darryl, New York get ready to welcome him as he’s announced he’s heading over to MoCCA Fest 2011 next month. If you’re in the Big Apple then please go down and make him welcome (and maybe get yourself a print and your copy of Psychiatric Tales – now out in the US too, of course – signed).

Jaime Hernandez Love & Rockets print

Jordan Crane has re-created Jaime Hernandez’s brilliant rock’n'roll cover to Love & Rockets issue 24 as a large silk-screen print. You can practically smell the spilt beer and sweat of the mosh pit, the sort of atmosphere you only get in smaller, intimate venues (or dives really), not in the big auditorium. Imagine how goddam cool this would look on your wall next to the Clash – London Calling Poster. I’m talking cooler than a polar bear bathing in liquid nitrogen. (via Boing Boing)

Update: our Kenny tells me he ordered a print for himself but found Paypal slapped on VAT; as he thinks under $350 value is tax free he’s advising anyone else from here ordering a copy to see if they can claim the VAT back.
